CDBG/HOME Programs
Consolidated Plan Priorities for Fiscal Years 2010-15
Priorities for Fiscal Year 2012-13
The CDBG Entitlement Program, established in 1974 and administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provides metropolitan cities and urban counties with funds to assist in achieving their goals of neighborhood revitalization, economic development, improved community facilities, prevention and elimination of slums, and assistance to low and moderate-income persons. An appropriation amount is determined by a statutory formula which uses measurements of need. The City of Santa Maria has been participating as an entitlement city under this program since its inception and receives a yearly grant.
For Fiscal Year 2011-12, the City allocated $1,148,333 in CDBG funds, $30,000 in program income under its revolving loan fund programs, an additional $13,207 in Fiscal Year 2010-11 CDBG program income for public services, and $346,885 in unused funds from previous years from canceled or completed projects available for reprogramming to capital projects.
