HOW TO START, DISCONTINUE, TRANSFER, OR CHANGE CITY UTILITY SERVICES
To start City utility services your signature is required. You may sign up for utility services at the Utility Billing Division located at 110 East Cook Street, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Please be prepared to present photo identification and a Social Security number. You may fax a completed Utility Start Service Form to the Utility Billing Division at (805) 925-2243. A new account set up charge of $42.50 will be added to your first utility bill. The City does not require a deposit.
To discontinue, transfer, or change utility services visit the Utility Billing Division office or contact the office by phone at (805) 925-0951 extension 217 or 218. Your utility customer account number is required to complete these transactions.
Utility Start Service Form
The City suggests that customers using a third party electronic payment service (on-line banking or merchant services) pay their bills 10 days in advance of the due date. If these services do not remit payments to the City before the final due date - customers will be responsible for late payment charges.
