To improve service, the City is building a new transit center at the corner of Boone and Miller streets. The ground breaking ceremony is January 7, 2010 and the project should be ready by Fall, 2010.

RIDER INFORMATION
General Information
If you need to purchase a pass, are unfamiliar with a bus schedule or need routing information, call (805)928-5624 TDD and our staff will assist you. The SMAT office is located at 1303 Fairway Drive in Santa Maria and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Fixed Route Service
Buses depart the Town Center Mall every hour or half-hour, starting at 6:15, 6:45, 7:15, and 7:45 a.m. The last buses for the daytime service schedule depart from the Town Center Mall at 6:15 or 6:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Nighttime service runs from 7:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Saturday service begins at 8:15 and 8:45 a.m., with the last buses departing at 5:15 p.m. or 5:45 p.m. Sunday service begins at 9:15 a.m. and runs until 5:45 p.m.

If you have left something of value on the bus, call SMAT at (805)928-5624 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Although SMAT is not responsible for articles left on the bus, we will assist you as best we can in recovering your property.
Bike Friendly
All SMAT Busses are equipped with bike racks designed to transport two bicycles. Additional bikes may be stowed inside the bus if space allows.

Drivers do not carry change, they do not accept checks, and cannot give refunds.
Transfers
Transfers are FREE with the purchase of a one-way fare, and are good for 30 minutes when transferring to another bus.
Children Under 6
Three children under 6 years of age may ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying passenger. Additional children under 6 must pay $1.00 for a one-way trip.

Passengers With Disabilities Reduced Fare ID Cards
Passengers with disabilities who are eligible for reduced fares must show the driver a special ID card when they pay their fare. SMAT also provides dial-a-ride service to those passengers who are unable to utilize the fixed-route system. Call for more information or check out the City's Guide
to Accessible Buses. To qualify for a reduced fare ID card, passengers must have a SMAT form completed by a physician or health agency. SMAT forms and additional information are available at the SMAT office or by calling (805) 928-5624. You may also use the forms provided on this web site. They are listed below.
