ARRA ELSEWHERE IN SANTA MARIA

There are several areas of spending where the City administration is not the recipient or custodian of other ARRA funds, however, Santa Maria residents will benefit from these monies. These areas include:

  • $40.231 million to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to repair the Santa Maria River Levee
  • $9,035,471 to the Santa Maria-Bonita Elementary School District.
  • $4,991,551 to the Santa Maria High School District.
  • $259,584 to Oak Knolls Heaven to aid the owners of Section 8 facilities in an effort to assist the payments of mortgages that are in "serious" financial trouble.
  • $109,180 to Central Plaza Apartments to aid the owners of Section 8 facilities in an effort to assist the payments of mortgages that are in "serious" financial trouble.
  • $42,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of the Santa Maria Valley, to fund program staff.
  • $30,000 to the FoodBank of Santa Barbara County, located in Santa Maria, to help maintain and expand programs impacted by loss of funding from foundations and individuals.

TOTAL TO NON-CITY AGENCIES: $54,698,786
